RN Desk: A workshop involving more than a hundred agricultural officers from the Faridpur region was held in Madaripur under the Family Nutrition Garden Establishment Project, aimed at utilizing uncultivated fallow land and homestead yards.
The workshop was organized on Monday (May 12) at 4 pm at the Horticulture Center in Madaripur, with funding from the Family Nutrition Garden Establishment Project and under the initiative of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Faridpur Regional Office. The Director General of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Md. Saiful Alam, was the chief guest, while the event was presided over by Mohammad Khair Uddin Molla, Additional Director of the DAE Faridpur Regional Office.
In his keynote speech, the chief guest emphasized that as the population grows, the demand for food increases, making it essential to ensure that no land remains fallow and all land is brought under cultivation. Through establishing family nutrition gardens in homestead yards, not only can fallow land be utilized, but family nutritional needs can also be met. He stressed the need for everyone to work together to achieve this goal.
Special guests at the event included A. Kader Sardar, Deputy Director of DAE Gopalganj, and Dr. Santosh Chandra Chand, Deputy Director of DAE Madaripur.
The project activities were presented by Dr. Akram Hossain Chowdhury, Director of the IFNAP project. Dr. Md. Raju Ahmed, Component Director (Deputy Secretary), delivered the keynote presentation.
