RN Desk: Nine General Managers (GMs) from state-owned commercial banks, specialized banks, and financial institutions have been promoted to the position of Deputy Managing Director (DMD). The Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance issued the official notification last Thursday regarding their appointments.
Among them, the highest number—five DMDs—have been promoted from Sonali Bank. Md. Rezaul Karim, Md. Nurun Nabi, and Mohammad Shahjahan have been appointed as DMDs in Sonali Bank itself. Md. Rafiqul Islam has been transferred to BASIC Bank, while Md. Nazrul Islam has been appointed at Janata Bank.
Two individuals have been promoted to DMD from Agrani Bank. Rubana Parveen will remain in the same bank, whereas Nurul Huda has been transferred to the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB). Additionally, Md. Khaleduzzaman from Krishi Bank has been appointed DMD of Krishi Bank, and Md. Ashraful Alam from Janata Bank has been appointed DMD of Janata Bank.
According to the notification, the promotions have been made following the “2023 Policy for Appointment, Promotion, and Posting of MDs, DMDs, and GMs” of state-owned commercial banks, specialized banks, and financial institutions. The promotions were finalized by a high-level committee after conducting interviews with the candidates.
