RN Desk: The Bangladesh Soil Science Society (SSSB), one of the oldest professional organizations in the country, founded in 1958, has officially held its office handover ceremony for the 2025-2026 session, along with an Iftar gathering. During the event, the outgoing committee and the election management committee formally transferred responsibilities to the newly elected leaders.

On Saturday, March 15, at BARC, Farmgate, the newly elected 19-member committee of the Bangladesh Soil Science Society assumed office. Dr. Md. Monowar Karim Khan took charge as the President, while Dr. Begum Samia Sultana, Director General of SRDI, assumed the role of General Secretary. Dr. Md. Nurul Huda Al Mamun, a distinguished soil scientist and writer, took charge as the Organizational Secretary. The committee also held an Iftar gathering to mark the occasion.

The newly elected committee members include:

• Vice President-2: Professor Dr. Akhtar Hossain Khan
• Joint General Secretary-1: Dr. Md. Bakhtiar Hossain
• Joint General Secretary-2: Professor Dr. M.M.R. Jahangir
• Treasurer: Dr. Faridul Alam
• Publicity & Publication Secretary: Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman
